I worked for five years in the refractory field. During this time, I conducted research according to the Innovation Portfolio of the company and in partnership with various universities. One of the main tasks was the development and consolidation of a new refractory brand with less CO2 emissions and the same performance compared to standard material. I also supported different plants in terms of production processes, quality control, and the implementation of new brands (Brazil and Mexico). Furthermore, I conducted brick trials for different Brazilian customers (steelmaking and non-steel applications). In addition, I supported research in the field of nanomaterials focused on the reduction of carbon content and thermal conductivity of refractory bricks. I also took part in research on nanomaterials for non-refractory applications. Regarding the nano field, I led efforts in the startup of a new nano materials plant in terms of commissioning equipment, developing parameters to process control, quality control, and health and security. In addition, at other times during my career, I have had experience with Biodiesel synthesis and the corrosion of metal substrates. During all of these years, I had the opportunity to present in national and international conferences in the materials field.I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG), and my Master’s degree at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR) in the Department of Materials Engineering with a focus on Technological Development.
