Since 1987 I have been offering independent bookkeeping services to a wide variety of clients. These clients have included not for profit, service industry, professionals, tradesmen and a number of different small businesses. This experience has allowed me to become familiar with the varying needs of these organizations, and to learn the skills to meet those needs.In 2008 I became a member of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC), which establishes standards of education and conduct for bookkeepers, with the goal of being recognized as the governing body of professional bookkeepers in Canada. I achieved my designation of Certified Professional Bookkeeper with IPBC in 2009. The continuing education required to keep my certification with IPBC, coupled with my past experience teaching basic accounting levels 1 & 2 as well as Simply Accounting (now Sage 50) at the post secondary level, has spurred me to always keep my skills current to best practices.In order to provide the appropriate services to my clients I am a Premier Advisor with Sage 50 (formerly Simply Accounting), and as of 2012 added Wave Accounting to my repertoire, an online solution for micro and small businesses. Last year (2021) I added QuickBooks Desktop to my list of accounting software, when I accepted a four day a week position with a small manufacturing firm in Brampton, and that is what they use.My clients' privacy is of utmost importance to me, so I subscribe to eCourier services (using bank-level encryption) for secure data transfer and communication. Online and telephone support is always forthcoming, limited only by my availability and reasonability of use.
