Barbara works in the space sector since 2002. She started as communication and education officer in the Human Spaceflight directorate at ESA/ESTEC. Later she joined HE Space as recruiter and communication officer. In her current job Barbara co-ordinates the marketing and communication for HE Space. She was on the Board of Women in Aerospace (WIA) Europe up to June 2012. From 2012 to 2021 she was on the Board of the Netherlands Space Society. She was on the Advisory board of SKIES during the project 2021-2022. She has been active for the HE Space Children's Foundation since 2009 and joined the board in 2017.She particularly enjoys the diversity of tasks ranging from writing for websites and newsletters to making new contacts at events. She is a true networker.Excellent communication skills particularly within International teams. Able to work to deadlines, develop creative solutions and build effective networks. Enjoys team approach to projects but also likes to take responsibility for individual tasks and activities.
