We Make RI is a workforce development organization focused exclusively on manufacturing training for displaced workers, job seekers, high school seniors, and incumbent manufacturing workers. We provide employer driven state of the art training for advanced manufacturing positions using a stackable certificate based curriculum. Combining soft skills, teamwork and business communication techniques with our technical advanced manufacturing training, We Make RI achieves an unprecedented placement rate. We Make RI also offers custom onsite training tailored to specific organizational needs and holds apprentice training for incumbent workers.As a consultant Barbara has built programs that maximized employee performance at all organizational levels. A few of her clients have included Time Magazine, United Nations Development Program, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Harvard Graduate School of Design, and various organizations within GE Capital’s European Division. Barbara has held key management positions in state and municipal governments including the Budget Director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Commissioner of Surface Transit at the New York City Department of Transportation, the First Deputy Commissioner of the NYC Department of Ports and Trade, VP Finance and Budget for NJTransit, Deputy Director in NYC’s Office of Management and Budget where her focus was on the operational units at NYPD during the fiscally challenged years of the City’s bankruptcy in the late 1970s and early 1980s.Specialties: Barbara has a BA from Providence College and a Masters in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. She is a past Board Member of the North Kingstown Chamber and Quonset Development Corporation. She presently serves on the RI Apprentice Council. Barbara is an avid sailor and the Past Commodore of Wickford Yacht Club.
