Provide guidance, training as needed and limited supervision to AK Technical Assistance specialist as they perform the following functions: Provide all Tribal governments in Alaska with ongoing technical assistance across ALL programs and services available through USDA; work, as necessary, with relevant BIA regional offices serving Alaska; establish liaison contacts within Indian Health Service offices in Alaska; work closely with Intertribal Agriculture Council headquarters and the OTR to coordinate technical assistance network program delivery; provide an additional point of contact between the USDA Office of Tribal Relations and Tribal governments in Alaska to assist and facilitate in regionally-based Tribal consultation efforts across all functions of USDA agencies; provide information as it is obtained to all Tribal governments in Alaska of program grants, contracts availability and notice of funds availability as these opportunities arise; conduct technical assistance meetings within Alaska with producers, community individuals, Tribal government elected leaders, Tribal government staff, and others to provide in-depth information to facilitate and improve Indian Country access to USDA programs and services; provide additional point of contact to all FRTEP professionals, 1994 Tribal Colleges, FALCONprofessionals and related education and extension providers in Alaska; gather specific information relative to the address of American Indian/Alaska Native concerns/barriers as presented in the present and future Farm Bills; and provide Indian producers and Tribal government's information relative to the direction of the IAC.

• Responsible for government-to-government relations between USDA and tribal governments. • address high ranking USDA officials, and the USDA Office of general counsel regarding American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) issues on a weekly basis through email, telephonic correspondence, formal written proposals, settlement agreements, investigative plans, and oral presentations. • Primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining close working relationships with the 39 areas of USDA as well as all Federal agencies in the development and implementation of the Native American Programs. • I currently assist new and current staff employees on how to handle AI/AN claims or other issues regarding Alaska Native issues and the Department. • I have also been charged with developing and conducting regional and national trainings regarding Alaska Native issues such as Subsistence, Climate Change and various environmental concerns, Governing Structures and Jurisdictions, Cultural Resource Protection, Federal Funding, and Cultural Awareness.
