“Our lives are heavily affected by the interior space we occupy and the buildings in the neighborhood around us. Architecture has the potential to make our lives better or worse, happier or sadder, lighter or darker." Barbara Konieczny-Young graduated with a Master’s of Architectural Engineering from the internationally recognized Silesian University of Technology in Poland. With over 18 years of progressive work experience, she has gained extensive experience working on diverse projects, from successfully designing unique retail interiors and efficient automotive factories to sports stadiums for audiences up to 3000 people. In every single design she has tried to implement Le Corbusier famous words: “Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep.”The main focus of her work is people. She likes to know what users want and need and deliver it to them in a design, which suits them to a tea. Barbara’s goal is to provide a design that is highly functional and yet, will still have a positive impact on users. She makes designs that are simple and smart which has lead to her winning awards such as first place for “Intelligent Building” for the Continuing Education Centre of the University of Economics in Wroclaw and an honorable mention for a conceptual design of the Lublin Conference Centre. However, it is customer satisfaction that truly drives her.In addition to her design skills, Barbara has become a dynamic and effective project leader. As the project manager of 17,000m2 automotive factory, she has demonstrated a great ability to take responsibility for projects that require planning, decision making, coordinating the work of others and creative problem-solving. She has also proven to be a task-focused and detail-oriented leader, who is able to stimulate others.
