I contribute to the Olympus mission by implementing EHS management systems by:--Overseeing occupational health and safety matters related to facility personnel--Developing and maintaining a systematic occupational health and safety management program to facilitate: --Identification of occupational health and safety hazards --Utilization of physical safeguards and employee personal protective equipment to control such hazards --Training of employees in good health and safety management practices --Investigation of accidents and occupational injuries and illnesses --Compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation--Evaluating deficiencies, establishing and implementing written policies and procedures, auditing to assess and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and providing requisite training--Managing general compliance matters and projects, and providing assistance to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations--Serving as primary contact for the development of the site's Health & Safety Management System to attain ISO 45001 certification.--Overseeing environmental matters related to Olympus facilities and products, developing and maintaining a systematic environmental management program to facilitate: --Assessment of environmental impacts of products, facilities, and operations --Engagement of Olympus management and staff in activities related to reducing environmental impacts --Compliance with environmental legislation--Serve as a contact for Olympus regarding the company's products & facility-related environmental compliance issues, monitoring environmental laws that impact products & operations, evaluating deficiencies, establishing/implementing written policies/procedures, auditing to assess & ensure compliance, and provide training--Serve as primary contact for the site's Environmental Management System to attain ISO 14001 certification

As a subject matter expert in employee safety, health, and environmental compliance, I drive safety initiatives and implement programs and policies across the multiple plants at the largest facility of Warren Oil Company located in West Memphis, Arkansas. I provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and coaching to plant personnel to evaluate, identify, and reduce the risk of loss through the application of health, safety, and environmental principles and knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations. I perform site audits to ensure regulatory compliance and recommend engineering and management controls to provide reduced exposure to hazards, to contain environmental issues, and to promote a safe and healthy working environment. I drive prevention and risk reduction programs to improve safety and health programs, policies, and procedures and provide technical training and awareness of industry practices and changes relating to health and safety. I establish key performance indicators and benchmark to industry performance standards with proactive communication of compliance awareness and performance to the workforce. I manage OPA 90 requirements for the facility’s marine terminal facility and all requirements for land-based terminals, tank farms, rail loading stations, and pumping stations. I am responsible for monitoring the facility’s compliance and program development for SPCC, FRP, and other required regulatory plans and programs. I lead efforts to deliver safety targets for TIR, LWIR, and EMR while implementing and tracking initiatives to achieve an injury-free workplace. In addition to EHS responsibilities, I am also responsible for the custodial / housekeeping team.

The Jonesboro facility was established to provide a full range of maintenance services on railcars, including the modifications necessary to transition flammable railcars to current state-of-the art standards. As the plant safety manager, I am responsible for overseeing the safety, health, and environmental programs at this modern facility. Responsibilities include: - Implementing safety/environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations- Administering and monitoring Corporate and Business Unit safety/environmental programs- Maintaining records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program- Providing training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems- Initiating, documenting and monitoring corrective actions to adherence to safety programs- Establishing and maintaining an effective safety committee- Working with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques
