I was essential in building the University Academic Advising Center at UHCL from the ground up with my supervisor and one other academic advisor. In April 2014, we created and started planning the Mandatory Advising Program (MAP) for the opening of the center in Fall 2014 for the first ever incoming freshman and sophomore class at University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). I met with each of my students three times a semester guided by the Academic Advising Syllabus we created which is different for each student depending on if they are a transfer or first-year student. With the help of the Peer Advisors I supervised, our MAP was a success!
