I led the team that completed one of the first mergers acquisitions of two mutual fund dealers regulated by the MFDA. I led the corporate/commercial and specialty team (of 25 lawyers) advising on the design, build, finance and operation of the first public private hospital facility in Ontario. I was appointed as External Counsel to the Ontario Power Authority (as it then was) with a mandate to provide corporate/ commercial legal services, often on an expedited basis, to support the development of conservation and demand management programs. I led the Canadian legal team for one of the consortium of bidders on the development of the Gordie Howe International Bridge. I recently led a corporate/commercial and specialty team (of 20 lawyers and paralegals) acting for a group of international shareholders in the sale of a Canadian specialty manufacturing company to a United States buyer. I am actively involved in advising foreign companies with their direct investment in and establishing and operating their businesses in Canada.
