I finished my MS in Health & Behavior Studies (Health Education) at Columbia University in December 2010, and received my MA in Health Advocacy from Sarah Lawrence College in December 2005. In addition to pursuing graduate level education, I have been working as a health researcher, and writer. My last four semesters at Columbia were spent working on issues of overweight and obesity. I designed a social marketing program targeting obese and overweight girls in Harlem, a theory based intervention program for overweight and obese girls in Harlem, and wrote a grant proposal for funding for that obesity intervention program. In my previous career, I set up and ran my own successful agency representing high quality photojournalists. During this time, the agency won numerous awards and became a highly respected organization whose work appeared in major magazines, newspapers, books, and advertising agencies all over the world. My blend of management experience and passion for health issues make me an ideal candidate for health writing and research work, health communications work, and health education work.I am writing about health issues for consumer and trade magazines, newspapers, and online sites, and am also available on a freelance basis for health projects.Research and Writing Samples Available for ViewingHealth AdvocatePublic Service Social Marketing Health CampaignsHealth LiteracyHealth WriterHealth PromotionHealth ResearcherHumanistic MedicineHealth EducatorSpecialties: Issues of overweight and obesity.Health Research and Writing
