I am currently pursuing a B.Sc. (Honours) in Medical Sciences at Brock University, driven by a passion for bridging the gaps in healthcare access and quality. My journey has been shaped by a blend of rigorous academic training, immersive research, and diverse community service experiences, all of which fuel my commitment to patient-centered care and innovation in medicine.🔬 Research & Innovation:My research interests extend beyond traditional settings. From conducting bioassays and PCR analysis on insecticide resistance in Chagas disease to drafting a comprehensive narrative review on vector control strategies, I have demonstrated the ability to adapt and contribute effectively in both laboratory and fieldwork environments. A pivotal experience was a research trip to Honduras, where I collaborated with an interprofessional team, navigating language barriers and resource constraints to tackle critical public health challenges.🤝 Community Engagement & Advocacy:My volunteer roles reflect a strong dedication to service and health equity. I have provided compassionate support in emergency and intensive care units, guided vulnerable populations through harm reduction initiatives, and facilitated exercise programs in cardiac rehabilitation. These roles have equipped me with a deep understanding of patient needs and the importance of building trust through empathy and clear communication.🏆 Leadership & Mentorship:Throughout my academic career, I have embraced leadership roles, from mentoring first-year students in the MedPlus program to coordinating as a lead timekeeper for hockey leagues. I have honed skills in team management, conflict resolution, and effective communication, consistently delivering under pressure and fostering collaborative environments.🔍 Continuous Learning & Quality Improvement:I am actively involved in the I-EQUIP program, where I analyze hospital data to identify areas for improvement in patient safety and care quality.
