With over 20 years experience in copywriting, editing, journalism, project management, both for print magazines as online, and over 25 years in media , I'm eager to share my experience and love for words and stories as a freelance writer and editor. After a long career at television channel BNN (online editor and copywriter) and, more recently, Hearst Magazines Netherlands (2005-2024) as an on-staff writer, (online) editor, deputy editor-in-chief and managing editor of ELLE Magazine (2008-2018) and National Geographic Traveler (2018-2024), among others, I've taken the leap to start my own business as a freelance (copy)writer and editor of all sorts.As a ME/EIC for National Geographic Traveler I commissioned stories to freelance journalists as well as photographers, wrote stories myself, and was in charge of all contents, including subediting and photo editing. Besides this, I coordinated paid collaborations for National Geographic Netherlands, and I set up the very succesfull NatGeo Travel Journalism Masterclasses, for which I also taught lessons (storytelling, pitching) to aspiring journalists.             Both for work and in my free time I try to see as much of the world as I can.
