Started my own business that provided in home assisted stretching.

As an exercise technician intern, I assist the physical therapists with patient strengthening exercises. During my internship I learn different exercises and modalities to treat different patient conditions. Physical therapists further explain how and why certain exercises are performed for different situations. Other responsibilities include cleaning and organizing the gym and treatment areas, preparing hot and cold packs for patients when needed, and setting up Game Ready device.

As an exercise tech, I assisted the physical therapist and the physical therapist assistants with patient exercises. I helped with stretches and strengthening exercises. I also provided patients with their home exercise programs. Making sure the facility was clean and organized was also my responsibility. I managed the other tech. Throughout the day, I washed all the linens. As the wellness director, I did monthly check-ups on members. I met with current patients that were finishing they physical therapy treatment to transfer them into the wellness program.

As an activities and fitness coordinator I help set up all resort activities and fitness classes. Stretch, Water Aerobics, Bootcamp, Zumba and Personal Training are some of the classes I instruct. I help with coordinating our new wellness and fitness programs for future guests and owners. I inventory and ensure that all equipment is safe and clean when guests check them out. Every week, I assign activities and breaks to specific activities attendants based on their skills and schedule. To insure we comply with company standards, I confirm that all instructors are up to date with certifications, they have proper uniform and that all the classes are complying to company guidelines. I make appointments ahead of time with guests and owners for personal sessions.

As a Wellness Coordinator, I promoted wellness in the work place. To helped lower health insurance costs, I worked with the company’s health insurance. Providing employees with occasional emails and flyers were some of the ways I made employees aware of a healthy lifestyle. I created weight loss programs and nutrition demonstrations to inform the workers on how to become healthier. Every week I followed up with the employees to assess how effective my interventions are for the staff. Creating relevant and engaging activities based on the employees’ lifestyles was the most effective way for participation.

At the front desk, I checked in patients and verified insurance information. Majority of the time I was online or on the phone with insurance companies verifying eligibility and benefits for every patient. Obtaining, authorizations between referring doctors and insurance companies were one of my daily tasks. Scheduling and confirming appointments for the following days was also one of my responsibilities. I became knowledgeable about billing and coding when obtaining copay and coverage information prior to patient appointments. Lastly, I filed patients’ paper work and implemented records into our servers
