After the realization of many of our clients either have their own platform to perform the task or don't want to invest resources to build their own platform or send tasks in CloudFactory micro-tasking platform but instead either wanted to perform the work in their own platform or in spreadsheets, CloudFactory decided to build a new offering by building a new technology platform called Easy Cloud Labour Management platform to support these sorts of new demanding needs. This is especially true for AI and ML-enabled technology companies like autonomous vehicle and aerial imagery technology and location data companies. The new Easy Cloud Labour platform was built using an event-driven microservices architecture that uses different database technologies, and messaging paradigm. Back in 2018, we started transition existing Easy Cloud Labour platform to the new age cloud-native architecture from the ground up. This cloud-native Easy Cloud Labour platform is aimed to shift the business model from assets heavy to assets lite model where teams would be self-managing, self-governing and regulating. In this new platform, we are doing the heavy use of AWS self-managed services, serverless technologies and different database technologies. Our current tech stacks heavily use AWS dynamodb, rds (postgres), fargate, elastic cache, elasticsearch, lambda, sqs, sns, kinesis data stream plus firehose, s3, cloudfront, API gateway, glue, athena, quicksight, cloudformation for infrastructure and code-build for build automations.
  • Cloudfactory.
    Technical Engineering Manager
    Cloudfactory. Jun 2014 - Jun 2016
    Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal
Managing people helps me to mature as an individual. It helps me to understand a different perspective on the same outcome. This opportunity made me clear how different people react with different emotions to a similar situation. It provides me with an opportunity to understand the human behavioural aspect and how to keep the team aligned and motivated. Being an introvert, it was not easy for me to open up easily but this management track helped me to open up a little bit more than I used to and connect more with each individual.During this role, I was also working closely with our delivery department which helps me to understand the business more and translating the business problem into a viable technical solutions.
  • Cloudfactory.
    Associate Technical Engineering Manager
    Cloudfactory. Jul 2013 - May 2014
    Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal
My manager/mentor/brother/friend Late. Mr. Karmath Dangol Dai (VP. of Engineering) advised me to explore the management track as well while still getting involved in technical decision and coding.During this time we were revamping our cloud labour micro-tasking platform from a monolithic application to service-oriented architecture (SOA). My job responsibilities included heavy participation in system architecture technical decision, designing the system, guiding/mentoring the team and implementing along with managing directs, conducting timely 1:1 and feedback cycle for their overall growth. At that time we were strictly practising pair programming which opens a door for two ways knowledge transfer and it helps new hires to speed-up their learnings.

CloudFactory is a cloud-scale global human-in-loop cloud labour service offering company for rapidly evolving digital world where the need of data digitization, labelling, annotation are everywhere to accelerate artificial intelligence initiatives and optimize business operations with the balanced combination of human touchpoints and technology.Few months before I joined CloudFactory, it has officially announced its arrival in global TechCrunch Disrupt SF platform. CloudFactory was in its initial phase to open this micro-tasking cloud platform to its users (cloud workers). Right after understanding the business model, I was immediately involved in fixing bugs, enhancing some of the critical features, making platform stable and working on some key features of this micro-tasking platform which enable clients and cloud workers to build their workflow and work effectively and efficiently.
  • Railshimalaya
    Freelance Software Professional
    Railshimalaya Jan 2012 - Mar 2012
    Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal
Right after returning to the homeland, I joined my three friends in the freelancing world. We were building software products for our clients alongside we were building a product of our own.We were building an event management portal business for Nepal called KathmanduEvents where all the events happing in the country will be centralized, easily discoverable and approachable. The idea behind the platform was to bring the event organizer closer to its targeted user, have an easier two-way communication channel and increased users participation in the event. Our revenue model was the commission-based partnership with the event organizers and paid advertisements. In this short span of a few months, I was also involved in a few freelancing projects like building a trim down Soundcloud clone MVP for Canadian client and poker leaderboard posting portal for UK based client.
  • Clearsenses
    Member Of Technical Staff
    Clearsenses Jan 2009 - Dec 2011
    Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India
Clearsenses was a shared development centre for multiple Silicon Valley Startups. I was hired as the first engineer to join this high growth startup. As a first project, I was involved in building a MVP shipping tracking portal along with Founder/CEO (Sanjay Suri) for the Indian market. The aim of this product was to bring the transparency and visibility in the Indian shipping industry. However the market was not ready at the time for this level of digital transformation. Some of the high industry prospect were reluctant to adopt this transformation due to the transparency it brings in terms of income tax they actually need to pay to the government. Next, I was involved in a project to help North Star Memorial Group, LLC to move their website from vendor lock-in situation. Since, their former website service hosting provider was not providing them access to their data, I was involved in writing a web scraper to pull the data from their existing websites and remodelling them and building a complete revamp web portal for NSMG. We successfully move their existing 21 websites to new ditigal transformation where NSMG has full access to their data. This exposure gave a completely new experience about the industry that you could hardly imagine could exist. Later on I was also involved in adminstrating atlassian jira, writing custom plugin and workflow for NSMG client. My next project was to implement a global e-commerce and promotional marketplace (bookperk) for book group purchase discount for HarperCollins Publishers. The idea was similar in concept to Groupon, where a deal is considered valid only when specified number of users bought the product (book). In between, I was also involved in a few other mid-size projects like revamping exotic India e-commerce platform and many others. We grow from 2 people to north of 15 people company in the very short span. I decided to move homeland on Jan 2012 and shortly after MIH India did a Talent acquisition of Clearsenses.
  • Serving Mind
    Software Developer
    Serving Mind Mar 2008 - Dec 2008
    Kathmandu, Nepal
I joined the software industry during the global recession period in 2008 where many people lost their jobs and going through a tough time in their life.I was hired to design and implement social networking sites for the pink slip holders where they can emotionally connect with each other, help each other to find the new opportunities and to overcome this adversity. I was the first member hired for this product development and soon accompanied by three of my colleagues. I was responsible for designing the system, database modelling and implementation of this product from the ground up. This product has many of the features of social networking including but not limited to member connection, messaging, forum and opportunities discovery. The vision of this product at that time is to have a unified social support and opportunities discovery platform for pink slip holders which didn't exist at that time. The revenue model of the product was the jobs advertisement where an employer can easily find skilled workers.During this product development, we often have to meet the business owner (investors) to understand their requirements and demoing the product developed so far and getting their critical feedback. I was thrilled and consider oneself very fortunate to have this level of exposure in my first professional journey.
