Dr. Bardia Anvar, MD, SWOC, PCWC, BC General Surgery, serves as President of Skilled Wound Care, a physician's group delivering professional services to nursing home residents. Through Dr. Anvar’s leadership Skilled Wound Care has grown from a small physicians practice to the leading wound care physicians group servicing nursing homes throughout the entire United States. Dr. Anvar’s expertise includes Medicare compliance, wound dressing selection, chronic wound care, remote electronic medical recording, and delivery of mobile health care services in long-term care. Dr. Anvar authored Mastery of Skin Wound and Ostomy Care, specifically written for long-term care, while also presenting multiple research projects on wound healing at the SAWC. Dr. Anvar is an expert in the coordinated care effort in long-term care and prevention of readmissions. The College of Long Term Care was co founded by Dr. Anvar, to educate all clinicians on the importance of wound and skin care in the elderly population. In addition Dr. Anvar is currently acting President of the College of Long Term Care which focuses on the SWOC certification for nurses. Dr. Anvar is also the Medical Director of the Anvar Medical Group, which operates clinics in the Southern California region. Dr. Anvar completed his B.S. from UCLA in Neuroscience, his M.D. from Mt Sinai SOM, and his general residency training at UC Irvine. Dr. Anvar has developed specific tools and programs to better professional services to nursing home patients. With a strong focus on enhanced clinical documentation, the Treasure clinical software was developed by a team of designers at Skilled Wound Care to deliver outcomes oriented physician documentation. In addition quality assurance metrics are a strong component of the Skilled Wound Care practice. Skilled Wound Care has developed strong partnerships with nursing facilities throughout the nation.
