Current• Act as a trusted advisor to top management, providing expert insights and recommendations on financial crime risk mitigation strategies.• Challenge the 1LOD and assess effectiveness of their adherence to financial crime controls • Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for the effective management of financial crime risks, leveraging insights from industry best practices and emerging trends.Leadership:• Lead a team of seasoned financial crime experts (managed by 22 AVPs), fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and compliance.• Provide guidance, performance feedbacks and strategic direction, enabling the team perform at their full potential and achieve organizational goals.• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the exploration of new technologies, methodologies and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of financial crime prevention efforts.Regional Collaboration:• Collaborate closely with financial crime leadership across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring alignment of strategies and initiatives.• Facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing between teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in combating financial crime.Global Sanctions CoE Setup:• Spearhead the establishment of a global team responsible for sanctions advisory and approvals, strategically positioning offices in Cairo, Warsaw, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.• Develop and implement standardized processes and protocols to streamline sanctions approval workflows across diverse geographical locations.• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies while optimizing operational efficiency and risk management.
