Jul 2022 - Present

Educational Consultant

Center For Integrated Stem Education, Inc.

Consulting with CISTEM and the Philippine Space Agency, I developed a 10 module course in space education for Philippine Science High Schools. The goal of this project was to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM, and specifically aerospace as the Philippines founded its own space agency recently in 2019.

Sep 2021 - Jun 2022

Dynamic Systems Mission Analyst & Algorithm And Software Developer

Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

CRS-2, or SNC's Dream Chaser, is a multi-mission spacecraft that will transport critical cargo to low-Earth orbit destinations, such as the International Space Station. The vehicle will be functional for multiple space missions, as it returns to Earth in a similar manner as a plane landing on a runway. My main contribution was working on the Dream Chaser flight software. As area lead for the GNC Interface sub-team, I designed requirements, flight software models of Level 0 behaviors to function-level behaviors, implemented the designs in C, and fully unit tested them. Outside of the GNC Interface sub-team, I also wrote integration tests, low-level requirements, and formal unit tests for the rest of the flight software.

Aug 2019 - May 2021

Spacecraft Flight Simulator Lead

Cornell University Space Systems Design Studio

Ithaca, New York Area

The Space Systems Design Studio, led by Dr. Mason Peck, works to improve spacecraft capabilities through spacecraft physics. As team lead of SSDS’s Spacecraft Flight Simulator team, I focused on systems engineering for a high agility test bed, which simulates a spacecraft in orbit or in deep space. I integrated the various subsystems that compose an attitude test bed, whereas my previous role centered on the attitude, dynamics and controls.

Aug 2017 - Aug 2019

Active Flow Control Researcher

Hampton, Va

Active flow control (AFC) contributes to high-lift performance. In accordance with NASA's commitment to improve the performance of future vehicles used in commercial transport, further research into active flow control could lead to reduced noise, fuel burn, and costs. I researched the internal flow mechanisms of of a large-scale sweeping jet, a key instrument in active flow control. I installed, wired, and calibrated sensors needed for the air station control and test model to the DAQ system. I also designed the test software on LabVIEW.

Jun 2018 - Aug 2018

Mechanical Subteam Member

Ithaca, New York Area

The goal of the project team was to design a solar powered boat to compete in multiple events testing endurance, maneuverability, and speed. On the hull sub-team, we created a shape that optimizes speed, without hindering factors such as control. I was also the drive-train sub-team liaison, in charge of the interface between the drivetrain and steering equipment. I created designs through Autodesk Inventor, analysis through Ansys, then manufacturing using CNC machines and fiber glass techniques.

Aug 2017 - Jan 2018

Geophysics Researcher

Los Alamos, Nm

I contributed to the EES-17 Geophysics group's research regarding nonlinear nondestructive testing by analyzing methods of nonlinear wave propagation. Specifically, I tested various adhesives' contribution to energy transfer and the the nonlinear hysteric parameter alpha. To do this, I soldered various acoustic transducers used to excite wave fields, then measured the respective velocities of samples with lasers. I used Resonance Inspection Technologies and Analyses (RITA) to observe the mechanical resonances of acrylic, aluminum, and crab orchard through chosen drive amplitude levels. To determine the amplitude dependent frequency shift, I became experienced in the process of Nonlinear Resonance Spectroscopy (NRUS). Further testing methods included compression and tension analysis with an Instron hydraulic testing system and thermal wave imaging technologies for damage detection. All data was compiled and processed using Matlab, which then was compiled into a final report Transducer Adhesives In Nonlinear Ultrasound Spectroscopy.

Jun 2017 - Aug 2017

Piezoelectricity Team Lead

Ithaca, New York Area

I cofounded a new project applying piezoelectricity to Cornell's campus. I designed and built an initial prototype of a piezoelectric platform, which generates electricity when applied with mechanical stress. I tested the yield stressed of various piezoelectric materials, as well as investigated their relationships between force, voltage, and current. Hopefully the technology will be applied in developing international communities with limited access to an electric grid.

Aug 2016 - Aug 2017

Project Estimator

Needham Heights, Ma

I operated from within the company's estimating and project management departments. I created and formatted professional estimates, calculating the costs of construction projects on Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat. From within project management, I overlooked the multiple subdivisions of a project including heat, plumbing, electrical, etc.
