My name is Barış Yenigün. I graduated from Computer Engineering department of Izmir Institute of Technology in July 2023. Now, I am pursuing Software Engineering and Data Science Non Thesis Master’s Degree at the same college. In my educational life, I have always been interested in software engineering/development. I have never limited myself with just one area of software engineering. Instead, I have encouraged myself to learn and improve in different software engineering areas like backend, frontend, database, DevOps, mobile development and etc. by building several side projects. I fulfilled my undergraduate summer internship at Research Ecosystems which is a tech company located at Izmir Teknopark inside of IZTECH campus. Research Ecosystems’ main product, GCRIS API, is a basically academic performance tracking software platform. It provides some academic statistics of academicians in Turkish universities to users. This software product was built with Java Spring Boot. In my internship, I wrote unit and integration tests for testing service and controller classes in this project by using JUnit5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Redis, Docker and PostgreSQL.My second job experience was in NexArb which is a startup tech company founded in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. NexArb’s two main products, NexBridge and ArbSwap, are platforms which help users to invest their cryptocurrencies and swap them with other users’ cryptocurrencies. In this project, I was participated as a frontend developer. I built several user interfaces with TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. Also, I integrated a Rust Anchor smart contract program with Next.js frontend app. I have learned so many important points about frontend development, Web 3.0 and blockchain technology from this experience.
