It was my interest in current affairs and in the doings of world leaders which first lead me to consider a profession in journalism. An early start and dynamic teams I work with takes out the best in me.Combined with my language skills and vivid expressions I give a distinct life and zest to my writings be it interviews, important events like elections and reports on lifestyles trends, fashion, art, music, travel and culture.My sensitivity towards women and children (especially the underprivileged) made me look around for news that could highlight their plight and bring relief to them. My stints as the president of an all women Rotary club, which I headed for one term and now as president of Tarang Foundation which promotes sports among underprivileged children, has helped me to address these issues.A high emotional quotient helps me to make an instant connect with people and they feel comfortable and confident to share their stories with me. It also led me to co-author a book ‘Being the Change-In the Footsteps of Mahatma, published by Harper Collins. The book is an anthology of seven stories based on the struggles and success of people who are working to improve the life of the tribals and is set in the remote regions of Vidarbha, Maharashtra.My strong nose for news and sensitivity towards life and the living has helped me dig out stories and address issues which would otherwise go unnoticed.My bylines appear in TOI and Outlook India magzine. I write about everyday concerns especially in context of underprivileged and rural issues on my blogging site Rhythm of Raindrops.

Have worked in The Hitavada, a leading English daily of Nagpur as Magzine Editor for nearly a decade. I was independently taking out an eight page pullout titled Insight, which was circulated with the Sunday edition of the paper. My work included selecting the content and page design along with pictures, and giving suitable headlines and taglines. The job required co-ordinating with the photographer and page designer and also with many readers and contributors. I also wrote a column for this magazine called Spotlight which was about my personal view on any current subject.
