I am a PhD graduate student at University of Colorado, Boulder. My PhD will be in Physical Chemistry and my advisor is Dr. Michael Shirts. My current research focus is on force field development for molecular dynamics with the OpenFF Initiative. I did my undergaduate degree at Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), with a B.S. in Nanotechnology and Chemical Science Engineering. Before graduate school, I was a Research Assistant in the area of Computational Chemistry and Molecular Electronics with Pennsylvania State University.Throughout my career I conducted hands-on theoretical and experimental research in multiple areas of chemistry. I also participated in intensive courses on topics such as writing scientific articles, patents and intellectual property, forensic problem solving with analytical characterization techniques, and the origins of nanotechnology. In my free time I taught STEM subjects (math, chemistry, biology and physics) to high school level students and I lectured English communication skills to college-aged teachers-in-training. My current goal is to make the most out of my graduate experience by participating in conferences, collaborations, among other scientific events.
