Actively Looking for medic work in the offshore settingHCPC registered paramedic with 4 years post registration, mainly working for the the London Ambulance Service in the city centre. From this, I have seen and treated a vast amount of different conditions and presentations in emergency settings. This has allowed me to become easily adaptable and confident in the unknown. I am able to risk assess and prioritise dynamically to ensure safety to all involved, whilst providing the excellent patient care. Throughout this time I have mentored students, worked as a solo clinician and in big teams, with more advanced clinicians and skill sets, and also alongside people with limited clinical knowledge. I pride myself on being and excellent communicator with the confidence to delegate effectively when necessary, which I ensure is carried through in particularly stressful working conditions. I am a good fit in my working team and quickly build up good rapport with people, whether that is colleagues or patients, creating a frictionless working environment and promoting better outcomes to objectives. Since the start of my training, I have endeavoured to keep up to date with the latest clinical guidelines and ensure that I am continuously refreshing my knowledge with regular CPD.Alongside my work in the ambulance service, I have worked in the TV industry for the past two years, often providing remote medical services on sets in a variety of locations. I am familiar with work related injuries and am not afraid to challenge any unsafe actions. On longer shoots I have been able to deal with more chronic concerns of some of the staff that may need managing, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality throughout.I have previous experience of expeditions in different challenging climates and terrains. This includes building and sleeping in snow holes in the Arctic Circle, a hiking expedition in the Rocky Mountains and various multday treks in the Jungle involving sleeping in caves. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors and love anything adventurous. I am a keen diver and motorcyclist and would love to incorporate these passions into my work. I recently worked as a medic at the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race and will be looking to get more involved with other races in my spare time. Similarly with the diving, my goal is to work in an industry where I can combine my medical knowledge with something I enjoy so much. Completing my HSE course recently was definitely a step towards this and am keen to get started in something different and exciting like the offshore world.
