For over 35 years, I have been covering international sport as a writer and broadcaster, often as a match commentator. As a writer I have worked for top clients such as Reuters, AFP, The Times, The Guardian, Sunday Times, Irish Times, Scotland on Sunday and South China Morning Post; as a radio reporter for the BBC, RFI and SABC and five years as a drivetime host for Athens International Radio (2004-09). I have worked as a live sport commentator for Canal + (French Top 14 rugby 2020-present), Eurosport (Top 14 rugby, Grand Slam tennis, T20 cricket, cross-country skiing, table tennis), HBS (international football). I also produced, wrote and presented daily 52-minute highlight packages for HBS during the 2021 French Open Tennis at Roland Garros.For six years (1998-2004) I worked as a freelance managing editor to Blendon communications, responsible for the editorial quality and production six magazines while operating as hands-on Editor of British Regional Airlines' in-flight magazine Skylines. In 2016, my independently-produced documentary film 'the Road to Sparta' was released. It collected a number of awards including a Special Recommendation at the British Sports Journalists annual awards in 2017.

Worked in the Paris office of Eurosport as News Editor. Previously wrote and presented Eurosport News bulletins. Anchored the opening and closing ceremonies of London 2012 for Eurosport 3D and commentated the artistic gymnastics; also commentating on Top 14 rugby, French Open tennis and T20 Cricket (in French)Commentated at 3 FISU Winter Games (cross-country skiing) and worked as a features reporter at the 2017 Summer Games.

Correspondent for French rugby. This included press conference coverage and interview features.

I set up Archon Media with my colleague Nick Malkoutzis while I was based in Athens in 2007. Archon was a small media agency which operated on three levels:- supplying copy for media outlets on a number of topics of a Greek persuasion such as politics, business, sport, travel and culture. Our clients include: Reuters, Athens News, Kathimerini, Insider magazine, fifa.com, uefa.com- creators and operators of www.sportingreece.com, the only comprehensive English-language Greek sports website- PR/translation/consultancy: clients include FAQ magazine, Ancient Games productions.

I presented the English-language evening news bulletins. I also wrote regularly for the website www.rfienglish.com

Originally worked for AFP at the World Cup athletics event in Johannesburg in 1998. More recently worked 3-month contracts as a desk journalist/sub-editor during the summers of 2010 and 2011. During the latter, I worked largely on their advance clip for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

I have worked for Reuters sports desk on and off since 1993. 1993-1996 I was one of the sports writers in South Africa (Durban-based).1996-1998 desked in the London bureau, writing and subbing2004-2009 sports stringer in Greece

Editor and co-presenter of Monday to Friday drivetime radio programme for the English speaking population of Athens. The role needed all-rounder abilities as it involved setting up and conducting interviews with a wide array of people from leading politicians from Europe and occasionally beyond as well to artists, athletes and musicians. It also involved anchoring coverage of the 2007 Greek election.

Regular contributor to 702 from across South Africa and other parts of the world. In 2004 I was one of their Olympic correspondents - also covered general news for them in Greece.

Editor and one of the writers of the official Royal Bank of Scotland Guide to the 6 Nations Rugby tournament. Fellow writers included Keith Wood, Rupert Bates, Tim Glover, Brendan Gallagher - 300,000 copies printed.

In charge of the day to day editorial management of the Blendon publishing wing. These included Homes Overseas, What House and Show House. I also edited the British Regional Airlines magazine Skylines and launched two new titles Viva Espana and Golf Living. the role also involved elements of public relations and working in tandem with our ad sales staff in Spain and South Africa.

Travelling correspondent for the Times at county cricket matches during the english summer and club rugby in the winter. Also covered international cricket in South Africa and international rugby in France and Italy.

I was invited to join the South African sports media agency MWP in 1993 and immediately set up the Durban branch of the company. During three years in the company, I covered SA cricket tour to Australia 1993-4, SA rugby tour to New Zealand 1994, Pakistan cricket tour to SA and Zimbabwe 1995, Hong Kong rugby Sevens 1995, Rugby World Cup 1995, Africa Nations Cup football 1996. Also collaborated with the photographer Grant Leversha on the book: Images of a Tour - Springboks in New Zealand 1994.

In charge of planning the bimonthly magazine and its supplements, liaising with contributors, organising budgets, writing features/interviews, promoting the brand at international tax conferences, hosting and delivering opening speech at the annual ITR conference.
