Research tasks involved simulation, experimental, flight data analysis, and efficient global optimization (EGO) through the use of surrogate models. Time, frequency, and time-frequency domain analysis techniques were also applied to analyze the uncommanded wing rock behavior of a small unmanned aircraft with a variable-size vertical tail.
Micro Air Vehicle Lab Research Assistant
Worked in teams to develop, flight test, and analyze unmanned aircraft ranging in size from 4 inches to 6 feet, both with open-loop and autonomous control. Used CAD/CAM software and CNC machinery to create 3D molds for composite construction, which included prepreg and wet lay-up techniques. As president of the competition MAV Team, responsibilities included setting budgets and agendas and conducting weekly meetings.
