Based in Killarney since 1958, L.C.C. produces ship to shore container cranes, rubber-tyred and rail -mounted stacker cranes and accessories. Liebherr container cranes are in use in over 100 ports and nearly 50 countries worldwide.The structural department is responsible for all primary steel component elemental design, both in operation and transport scenarios. The structures department, in conjunction with the mechanical, electrical, sales, transport, project management and manufacturing sectors all based on-site, assist in the conception design, through contract design, manufacture and final hand-over of the product.

Lynch Access Design & Lynch Consulting provide structural consultancy services to the construction industry mainly within Ireland. Specializing in the areas of Scaffold Design & Temporary Works Consultancy, Lynch Access Design provide services to both scaffold erection companies and general construction professional, providing safe & robust system solutions for bespoke design requirements.With the majority of the company's work being conducted in Temporary Works Design, my main day to day duties would consist of liaising with clients and the company director (civil engineer) for the conception, design and finalised production of Temporary Works Packages. This array of work can include site inspection both post and pre scaffold erection, design consultation, specification compliance with design standards & recommendations for Safe Workable Temporary Works structures. Design packages contain a full, often bespoke design, with production of project calculations, TWDC & AutoCAD 2D drawing details.

Techrete are specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of precast concrete architectural units and their subsequent components. My role and responsibilities were within the design team as a Structural Engineer. Reporting to the Technical Manager, I was required to assist in the design and submission of proposals for precast units which may then be submitted for manufacture at the local plant on-site in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

The role covered the South and West Irish region, which is classified as primarily the Republic of Ireland outside of the greater Dublin area.Reporting to the Marketing/Engineering Manager with guidance from the European HUB unit based in Manchester. Significant design assistance is provided to clients in the areas of M&E Support System Installations, Firestop Design, Anchor Design, Rebar Design, detection systems and technical product guidance.

Office based Engineering support to both external and internal enquiries for those associated with Hilti products and services.

Production of detailed drawings and calculations for both in-house and external client requests. Production of system solutions within the Hilti M&E sector along with office assistance for our field based engineers.
