Luis Barros completed the Integrated Master's in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering in December 2016 at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho and the Ph.D. in Electronics and Computers Engineering, with a specialization in Power and Energy Electronics, in May 2023 at the School of Engineering at the University of Minho. He has been an Invited Professor, since 2017, at the Department of Industrial Electronics at the University of Minho. As a professor, he guided several practical projects and master's students. He is a research member of the ALGORITMI Center at the University of Minho. He has published 9 articles in specialized journals, 4 articles in book chapters and 11 articles in international conferences. He received 2 awards and/or honors, referring to the best paper at the SESC conference and the Top 21 Projects at the Texas Instruments Innovation Challenge European Design Contest 2016 (Top 7 in the Industrial category).
