This had been an ongoing contentious issue for several years as the Insurance Market did not accept the concept of loss. • Over two-year period negotiated large number of agreed daily rates for loss of use of the vehicles (the market had previously rejected the concept that any income would be lost due to not being able to use that vehicle). • Introduced the concept that simply not being able to use the vehicle was justification for compensation irrespective of loss of income, generating tens of thousands of pounds for the company in compensation. • Introduced and implemented risk management processes: regular vehicle inspection; penalties for regular acts of negligence; and generally attempting to transfer ownership and responsibility for good driving practice back to the instructor. This resulted in less disruption to the business, a better claims experience, and therefore premium savings.
