Maintenance and repairs to all manner of machinery used in the construction industry and also DIY/Gardening. Ensuring the entire fleet of equipment was maintained to a safe and reliable standard, keeping a good level of fast moving parts, providing customers with all information required to encourage responsible use of the machinery.On a daily basis my roles changed dramatically and could be as follows:Open the shop in the morning, organised the delivery schedule for the day, ensure all machinery is checked and clean, input customer details for deliveries and payments, check-in customer repairs, estimate repair costs and time frame for return of equipment, contact multiple suppliers and often find new suppliers for more efficient supply of parts, deliver and collect machinery, complete repairs for breakdowns on sites, ensure working space and environment is kept neat and tidy, complete overhaul of machinery for resale, contacting customers to check times for machinery collections, planning routes for the driver in order to reduce fuel costs and advertising equipment online in an attempt to keep up with the ever growing online side of the business which is often very hard to keep up with given all other requirements in keeping the business running.Essentially I could have been doing all of these in one day, I loved the diversity of the job. Always something to do, always under pressure or time constraints but still maintaining a good working environment with those around me and ensuring customers receive exactly what they require for a smoother working day and overall increased profitability of the company.
