Roles held by myself as a process controller have involved taking responsibility for safe and cost efficient production. Health and Safety has always been at the centre of my focus, always taking precedent.Tasks include liaising with the various maintenance departments.I ensure that any possible effects on production are managed and disruption is kept to a minimum. I also carry out shut preparation, ensuring that the plant and equipment are left in a suitable condition for isolations, for works to be undertaken and for plant start-up. Included in shut preparation are preparing the isolations for safe working conditions, issuing isolation instructions, preparing and the issuing of Confined Space Permits, Hot Works Permits. Isolations are carried out by myself on the Electronic Permit To Work system, Q4.I have successfully planned and managed monthly shuts. When necessary, I work longer than normal hours, assisting the Stock preparation personnel with the start-up of the plant, dealing mainly with issues arising by directing available resources in a manner that resolves issues effectively and safely. During shut downs I manage Stock Preparation personnel. In order to ensure safe, effective completion of tasks, I ensure that the necessary tools are available to undertake the job. Measurable, achievable tasks are assigned ensuring task completion. An understanding of the interaction between team members is taken into account by myself where persons are arranged into teams. I am also involved in process improvement projects. I am currently involved in the implementation of 5S principles across the mill. I deal with external suppliers and specialists. When needed I create purchase orders on the SAP system. I provide cover for Shift Managers during absences due to sickness or holidays managing all the employees on site. I create and review SoPs and associated Risk Assessments. I also attend Root Cause Analysis meetings and complete actions assigned to myself as outcomes of the RCAs. Reporting, investigating accidents on the electronic system and implementing any actions as outcomes of the investigations. Management of Total Productive Manufacturing daily check sheets and of Preventative Maintenance bulletins.
