Project Management - 220kv Substation Construction.• Managing a team of electrical project and design engineers and support staff through the project life cycle.• Tender evaluation and base line analysis.• Creating a project management plan • Full financial management of the project including revenue and spend forecast, cost to complete, approve and release purchase orders and requisitions, financial monthly reporting. SAP is the financial platform used for financial management and includes building and maintaining WBS structures.• Compile and manage detailed project schedule for the duration of Project. MS projects is ABB’s preferred scheduling platform.• Scope management which includes proposals, vendor approval, design reviews, commissioning and switching reviews, auditing RFQ’s and deliverable specifications. Scope management activities within ABB also includes all change management tasks such as auditing subcontractor variation claims and managing scope change and variation submissions to client.• Contract management which includes the auditing of contracts before issue to subcontractors, managing contractor performance against the contract, managing claims and disputes. Relevant standards include AS4906 – 2002 including annexures and applicable state payment and securities acts.• Risk management. • Quality management. • HS&E activities include ensuring relevant HS&E standards are in place and meet client approval. Ensure audits are conducted on a regular basis. Monthly reporting and management of deviations and non compliance.• Reporting includes weekly and monthly reviews which cover all critical management activities and processes involved in managing the project. Occasionally international project reviews are carried out with ABB head office in Zurich.• Client and stakeholder management includes external reporting on project progress. Facilitating and conducting weekly site meetings. Ensuring clients needs and expectations are managed.

Project Management - Electrical Distribution Projects• Full financial management of project including cost forecasting, maintenance of margin, approval of purchase orders, financial audits and reporting, invoice approval and management of claims. SAP was platform used for financial management.• Project planning and schedule maintenance through project lifecycle.• Variation and change management with both subcontractor and client. • Assist tendering with design and feasibility reviews.• Access management which included compiling switching proposals for approval, ensuring local authority approvals for access, customer notifications and access risk management which included notification of alternate utilities with nearby assets.• Contract management which included reviews of service and procurement contracts, management of claims and disputes.• Quality management including design reviews, quality audits during and on completion of project lifecycle and cost of poor quality reporting.• Construction Management included direct engagement of construction supervisors and construction teams including contractors. The role included detailed technical support, quality and safety audits and management.• Risk management which included risk identification, mitigation, reviews and audits.• HS&E activities which included ensuring HS&E policies and procedures were adhered to and this as managed through training and audit programs. Much of the work was carried out in environmentally sensitive areas which included die back zones. Environmental managers were engaged and inductions completed before work commencement. Safety audits included ensuring specialized equipment was compliant and tested at statutory intervals.• Stakeholder management included managing client and sponsor expectations through engagement and continual improvement recommendations and programs.
