Duties include drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, filing documents with the court, preparing trial exhibits, legal research, setting hearing/trial dates, meeting with clients, preparing witnesses/clients for trial and practice accounting/billing. Assisting with litigation of Employment, Education, Criminal, Civil, and Family Law Cases.

Teaches a variety of paralegal courses, including Legal Research and Writing, Civil Litigation, Contracts, Torts and Remedies, Criminal Law, Family Law and other courses as required. Furthermore, I maintain relevant academic research and professional development, assist with the American Bar Association approval process, participate in university committees, attend university and department meetings, advises students and develops internships.

Instruct individuals in a classroom setting. Conduct needs assessment analysis for each participant. Develop educational plans of action for each participant. Monitor participants' needs in order to remediate educational deficiencies. Maintain the required participant progress documentation. Attend all staff meetings and in-service workshops. Keep daily attendance records and progress reports. Assess program students using the TABE and BEST tests are dictated by Norfolk Public Schools and Virginia Department of Education. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis. Maintain records portfolios and student progress reports. Manages programs and instructional staff within the Criminal Justice Department within ITT-Technical Institute. Ensures proper instruction and delivery of curricula, and ensures that the learning environment meets the curricula requirements. Supervise, hire, train and develop instructional faculty within the Criminal Justice Department and assist them in achievement of goals and objectives. Communicates performance expectations to instructional staff, monitors performance (including conducting classroom observations), analyzes key performance indicators, provides coaching and feedback, evaluates performance and recommends corrective actions. Assists the campus Dean in the creation and implementation of academic goals and objectives for the campuses’ Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Assists the Dean in determining classroom equipment and instructional staffing needs. Conducts regular faculty meetings with instructional staff to discuss policies and procedures. Monitors faculty to ensure compliance with protocol, policies and procedures Provides feedback regarding curricula to appropriate curriculum committee. May serve as curriculum content contributor and/or reviewer. Participates in advisory committee and advisory board meetings. Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of educational process. Provides academic and failure advising to students and documents in student information system. Assists with new student orientation and student concern resolution. Coordinates relevant certification programs and student professional associations at the campus. Promotes student enrollment growth in assigned school of study by participating in the campuses’ re-entry program, implementing retention initiatives, attending campus events, and involvement in community and professional organizations and events. Collaborates with Director of Career Services to improve graduate employment outcomes in school of study.

Conducted telephonic fact-finding interviews/hearing with employers and claimants to determine employee eligibility for Virginia Unemployment Compensation Benefits. Interpreted and applied unemployment compensation laws to determine eligibility for benefits. Established and resolved separation and non-separation issues.
