Works closely with Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) on key strategies for employing effective security controls to combat today's advanced threats in a risk based methodology. The Counter Threat Unit (CTU) is comprised of the nation’s top security Researchers, Incident Responders, Adversary Testers, and General Risk Consultants who work diligently with our customers each day to enhanced their security resilience.

Responsible for directing the operations and defense of the Army's portion of the Global Information Grid consisting of over 1.2 million users. The AGNOSC integrated key cyber functions spanning operations, defense, intelligence, resource/risk management, and strategic planning for the Army while leading DoD in implementing many critical network security initiatives. Also lead Army Signal planner for what is today U.S. Army Cyber Command.

JTF-GNO directed the operations and defense of the DoD Global Information Grid ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of 7 million computer systems across 3500 posts/camps/stations. Also responsible for the DoD’s Global Network Operations Center, guiding actions of 64 worldwide operations and security centers (6,000+ personnel) to deliver mission critical voice, video, and data services.
