Managing the best and biggest indoor Skate Park in the South West.

This role is very different from previous roles in Leisure I have done; the role of Client Liaison Manager is similar to that of a Contracts Manager. In essence I look after the contract between the Client (Cornwall Council) and the Operator (Parkwood Leisure) at Penzance Leisure Centre.Much of the role includes report writing, both monthly, bi annually and annually on various aspects of the business. I report to both the Client and the Operator as and when required.In addition to this, Health & Safety is also a key part to the role - I keep track of the NOP and EAP for the pool as well as Risk Assessments throughout the building and ensuring H&S Audits are carried out through the various departments as required by Head Office.With my background I am lucky enough to be able to vary my working day to cover Duty Manager shifts and return to the operational side of the business from time to time as well as getting dirty and assisting with Maintenance for both routine, essential and planned projects.As I work through the role in my first year, I am discovering that the role evolves as needed and the variety of jobs within keeps me on my toes!

This role requires me to oversee the successful running of two swimming pools on two separate sites (one at Truro School / Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre and Truro Prep School) with the school taking priority for its pupils.An interesting job at a prestigious location!

Out of a conversation with the Chief Exec of CN4C I discovered Redruth Radio and got in contact to volunteer some time; having musical interests I was expecting to be helping with sound and production and not get my own show! After a quick chat with Nick at the station I was given a bash (off air) to play and have a go then given a regular gig!After the first show an old buddy joined in and we formed the Baz and Dan Radio Show which went out live on Thursdays; but with this conflicting with work commitments Dan eventually left me to rock alone.
