Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: ● Hired by Tobyhanna Army Depot as Director of Contracting and later was transitioned to the Command and Control of the CECOM Contracting Center; renamed as Sector-T; my title changed to Sector Chief.● Reorganized the Directorate into a more efficient use of personnel and capabilities eliminating waste realigning personnel to provide better, broader range support to the customer. ● While performing a workload and workforce analysis determined an excessive amount of effort was being spent on Federal Express (FedEx) actions. I initiated a Lean Six Sigma event to study and streamline the process reducing the number of call orders from about 200 per month to about 30 per month.● Initiated a Greenbelt study to look at cancelled purchase requests as much as 15% in a month. The Study concluded the root cause was lack of proper acquisition planning and materiel orders being placed before the equipment evaluation had been completed.● Instituted a comprehensive set of metrics to track and measure the procurement operation and implemented a series of initiatives to reduce backlog, increase throughput, and reduce lead-time in the purchasing function.
