About Barry Simons
Barry is an environmentalist, committed sustainable development practitioner and innovator who passionately believes that many of the accepted and orthodox values which are dominant today are flawed, damaging and self evidently unsustainable for people and planet. Such values and attitudes urgently need discarding and replacing. Barry's academic research and work over the past decade has convinced him that society needs to urgently develop and accept an alternative ethical model based on welll-being, environmental quality as well as prosperity; a model that can be readily applied through evolving personal and institutional values. A new ethical model, one which is holistic and appeals to common sense will be essential as humankind confronts converging issues during the 21st century in preparation for the urgent, fundamental but necessary shift away from the clearly unsustainable to a less unsustainable society.
