Vice President Of Sales And Marketing North America
Sowa Tool and machine is a 58 year old leader in the North American Metalworking Industry, primarily recognized as a global importer/exporter of machine tool accessories , measuring and cutting tools who then distributes these tools throughout North America. My role initially began as a 20 year old shipper/ receiver, that quickly moved to warehouse manager. From there to inside / outside sales, sales management and on to my current role as Vice President of North American Sales and Marketing. I oversaw all aspects of Sales and Marketing throughout all of North American. Our sales grew by over 700% in profitable growth under my leadership, with net income per employee well above average. My responsibilities included sales , marketing , team building and recruiting for a clearly defined Canadian retail zone , as well as a coast to coast Canadian distribution network as well as responsibility of overseeing the US side of our business through and manufacturers rep network .
Canadian Sales Manager
In 1994 I was took on the title of Canadian Sales Manager . This soon then included the title and responsibility of marketing which was directly connected to our sales. I was involved in catalog content, on line marketing, promotions, design and overall creativity in getting products to both a distribution network, and through direct sales to end users locally. As a global importer, I traveled and visited various factories abroad to evaluate quality and production methods as well as delivery. Sowa opened its own branch in Hong Kong in 2000, and traveling throughout USA, Europe and Asia was common . Supplier relations was also added to my mix, and seemed natural as the complete package was built and tied together. Although my responsibility was primarily with the Canadian sales team (Head Office in Kitchener, Branch office in Edmonton, to cover the Canadian oil patch, we also opened a satellite office in Ohio, in the United States and set up and a manufacturers Representative network and supply chain of industrial distributors state side.

Responsibilities included submitting regular sales reports to management, informing potential and existing customers of product features and benefits, and resolving customer complaints. Created as well as presented persuasive sales proposals to customers to encourage sales and repeat business.
