Lead the contract site team through construction of the highly successful ($4.2 billion) Jimblebar Project, railing first ore safely, on budget and five months ahead of schedule.Responsibilities:• With a focus on safety leadership, I was accountable for strategic decision making on all site construction and project production issues. • Planning, prioritising and approving site support works and purchases, • Conducting safety scorecard audits both independently and as a mentor to the construction managers and production superintendents,• Coaching, motivating and disciplining project and production teams, • Setting the example for safety, integrity and simplicity. Key achievements:• Enhanced safety through supervisor mentoring and on site visible safety leadership including behavioural observations, audits and work crew presentations.• Reduced project risk by focusing on the future strategies through the project life cycle and managing stakeholder interfaces including all mine and rail departments.• Lead the project into production through early recruitment and training of operators and maintainers, railing double the production forecasts for the first six months.• Reduced site costs by approximately 20% through the detailed knowledge and enforcement of service contracts.• Reduced regulatory risk by maintaining a close working relationship with officers from Worksafe and the Department of Mines and Petroleum.
