Responsibilities:• Management of electrical statutory appointments and compliance as the nominated electrical custodian under the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations. • Coordination, budgeting and safe delivery of all facets of electrical maintenance including electronic communications, pit de-watering, the electric shovel and the High Voltage electrical power transmission network to all mines.• Supporting the community as the custodian of the Newman electrical network operator in accordance with the Electricity Industry Acts.Key achievements:• As acting manager for Infrastructure and Services, I increased productivity and improved safety through leading the development of new work procedure packs across the department for electrical, water, lifting and fabrication services areas.• Reduced risk by developing a strategic plan for new projects such as the south town substation, potable water treatment plant and air conditioner replacements, all of which have since been implemented.• Achieved statutory compliance by actively leading the development and enforcement of procedures and standards for electrical testing, maintenance and record keeping.

Managed the engineering support team for the maintenance of electrical power and control systems for the Ore Handling Plant and quarry electrical systems at Mount Whaleback.
