  • Microsoft

As CTO for Microsoft's IT organization reporting to the CIO I ran the enterprise architecture organization, a team of approximately 40 professionals serving a global IT team of 4,000. I created and led the cloud migration strategy team which built and executed the roadmap for Microsoft IT's own transformation to a cloud-centric enterprise, probably the first "traditional" on-premise enterprise to mass-migrate to the cloud. I also created and led the Architecture Review Board and the Standards Board which provided overall technical guidance and governance for over 1500 enterprise applications and teams. My team also pioneered many leading-edge technologies, working closely with the Microsoft product teams as well as market thought leaders. I personally wrote and maintained the "Microsoft IT Strategy," a document which outlined the way forward for this large multinational organization. Finally, I also created the first data science team in Microsoft from a group of PhD mathematicians and statisticians.
