We are a team of experienced and highly skilled business development professionals within the life and health sciences sector with networks extending across the US, Europe and further afield.

The AIRBRIO Respiratory Management System captures and processes key data relating to use of metered dose inhalers by asthmatics and presents information to users and clinicians which leads to more effective delivery of medicine, improved prescription compliance and promotes clinical best practices.

I advise on strategy and manage relationships with funders and partners in terms of UK/European operations.

Commercialization of Lantern's RADR Platform - Response Algorithm for Drug Positioning and Rescue

Identifying and developing appropriate opportunities in trade, R&D and foreign direct investment based upon Northern Ireland's capability and infrastructure in the Life & Health Sciences and to grow the sector in terms of jobs, investment, collaboration, R&D activity and wealth creation.

The Clinical Translational Research and Innovation Centre (C-TRIC) provides specialist workspace and services for academic researchers, clinical researchers and the biotechnology industry.As Commercial Manager at C-TRIC I had management responsibility for C-TRIC staff, facilities, finance, business development and marketing. I provide formal reports to the C-TRIC Board, C-TRIC Finance Committee and also act as Company Secretary.  I was also responsible for and successfully grew business activities relating to collaborative R&D, contract research, clinical trials, on site tenants and client base. I have built business relationships with many local life and health science companies and those overseas. I developed R&D opportunities, identified appropriate funders and developed funding applications towards collaborative R&D projects and healthcare innovation support programmes. I managed expenditure, delivery against targets and provided reports to a variety of funding organisations.  I represented C-TRIC on a variety of initiatives and participate/present in conferences and partnering events to develop collaborative business opportunities. I organized and manage events, workshops and conferences aimed at stimulating the life and health sector in NI including the Annual Translational Medicine Conference which is now in it’s 7th year. I have presented at a range of conferences in UK, Ireland, US and the European mainland. I identified funding opportunities, facilitated engagement between potential collaborators and drafted and submitted applications towards a variety of funds including US-Ireland R&D Partnership, Horizon 2020 and other EU funds.

I developed academic-industry links between the University of Ulster and the Life and Health Science sector. I represented the University of Ulster on various bodies including the Higher Education Further Education Business Alliance and IntertradeIreland’s Expertise Ireland Management Committee.I held responsibility for three years for the management and promotion of the University’s Consultancy Services. During this period revenue for this activity grew by 50%.

I managed technology transfer activities at University of Ulster. I negotiated numerous Collaborative Research Agreements, Licensing Agreements, IPR Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements with senior executives and director.  I also prepared reports for both Consultancy and Intellectual Property and formally presented these reports to the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Committee/Innovation Committee. During my time in this role I had management responsibility for the University’s Intellectual Property portfolio.

I managed sales and marketing of Life Technologies/Invitrogen products within Northern Ireland.
