Hi, I’m Jess! I am an education, language and art enthusiast experienced in customer relations, teaching, mentoring, childcare and business development with a background in marketing and international business, as well as education. As an experienced mentor and team player, I value knowledge sharing, curiosity, creativity and human connection. I love to learn, and seek to foster a love of learning in all my students.Having just completed a Bachelor of Education in August 2023, I am currently employed as a professional substitute with the Vancouver School District, as well as the North Vancouver School District. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, connecting with pals, moving my body in any number of ways and getting outside as much as possible. Resourcefulness and adaptability are two of my strongest traits. This is part of why language is so important to me. Connecting with people in their own language is a fantastic way to build better understanding across cultures and to create stronger communities. I am passionate about learning, enjoy new challenges, meeting new people and using my creativity to solve problems while having fun. My greatest source of energy comes from engaging with the people around me. I care about the people I work for, those I work with and those I am serving.My yoga practice has altered my approach to work and life overall. Yoga shows me the symbiotic relationship that exists between hard work and relaxation, between tension and release. Finding this balance has helped me find fulfillment in my work and life.
