𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐈 𝐃𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐘𝐎𝐔?I make your dream a reality by turning your life story into a great book. But I don't just interview you and write up your stories. Throughout the process, I challenge you to think more deeply about your life - and perhaps in different ways - than you have in the past. My goal is to create a book that surprises your readers - and maybe even surprises you! 𝐈'𝐕𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄... …and have learned that the path to creating a great book is not always what you think it is. For example, I was engaged to help a C-suiter write a memoir focusing on his adventures in high-level positions at Toys “R” Us, 7/11, Dollar General, and other companies. But as we worked through the initial interviews, I noticed he often emphasized the life lessons he had learned from various escapades. It was clear that what really interested him was not just telling stories, but passing on these lessons. So we shifted focus, using his stories to talk about creating your best life. I also worked with the founder/CEO of a $2 billion oil services company. His memoir was to be about his struggles and success, with some mention of his wife, designed for their family. However, it quickly became apparent that it would be much more interesting to tell the story from the wife’s point of view. And so we told their story through her eyes, creating a much more illuminating and nuanced memoir. 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐄? As I look through what clients have written about me, certain themes emerge. They often tell me they appreciate that the writing process becomes a "journey of self-discovery," that I listen well and "see the bigger picture," that I have "an amazing ability to grasp the vision" and "insist on maintaining a high-quality bar."
