Barry Morris served as the President of Polycom’s newly created Public Sector Sales organization, where he leveraged his winning track record of driving sales to the US Federal Government market, to expand coverage into the state and local government, education and medical markets. These markets have always existed for Polycom, but unifying them under one Public Sector practice led by Barry shows an increased and streamlined focus on these verticals and customers. His main responsibility was to drive sales and retention, ensuring customers are heard and their key needs are addressed through strategy, product development and customer service. Barry joined Polycom in 2003 as Vice President of Federal Sales where he focused on leading sales and operations efforts into the Civilian, Defense and Advanced Programs sectors of the US Federal Government. He brings over 25 years of industry experience with government, service provider and enterprise markets, with extensive focus in the government space helping agencies with their network infrastructure and technology requirements. Prior to Polycom he served as Vice President of Sales for Cogent Communications where he developed and managed all aspects of the sales strategy and process for commercial enterprise markets and the carrier space. He created and managed revenue growth from zero to over $6,750,000 million dollars of monthly recurring revenue. Barry spent 11 years with the evolving organization (SynOptics / Bay Networks / Northern Telecom) Nortel where he served as Vice President of Federal Sales. During his tenure at Nortel, Barry proved instrumental in the growth of the organization's revenue growth from $4.5 million to over $300 million. Barry received a BA from the University of Georgia in 1982 and is an active member in key industry UC/Collaboration groups, and major government associations such as AFCEA.
