After leaving school I studied Pre-Nursing with the hopes of pursuing a place to study in DCU as a student nurse. I worked hard for a year in Colaiste Dhulaigh and started working as a HCA in CareChoice Swords. Upon completing my Pre-Nursing course, I was accepted into the Intellectual Disability Nursing Programme in DCU. I have always known that I wanted to work with people, even from when I was a child and now not only as part of my studies but my work too, I get to care for people and make a difference in their lives. I have particular interests in both Geriatric and Paediatric care. Two opposite ends of the lifeline but each equally as deserving of care as each other. I take great enjoyment in looking after people and doing everything that I can to ensure their care needs are met to the highest possible standard. As a carer and first aider I have seen it all, strokes, dementia, diabetes, sprained ankles, broken bones, heart attacks, cardiac arrests and death. All of these combined experiences have undoubtedly made me the man that I am today and I am still as enthusiastic about caring as I was Day 1 in Colaiste Dhulaigh.
