Scope was the daily production to customers’ schedules of 25,000+ automotive components, across 3 major product lines, in a 5x24 hour operation. Additionally, directed engineering team responsible for developing new production processes and improving and maintaining the existing manufacturing lines.

Launched 7 UAW work-teams (80 3rd-shift hourly employees) and managed 9 teams (126 2nd-shift hourly employees) using the plant’s Quality Operating System to meet customer production schedules.

Developed a stand-alone injector as part of the integrated injector/fuel rail as a member of a simultaneous design and manufacturing team. Designed the Injector’s electromagnetic circuit and developed the test method and procedures to verify correct operation of the system. Implemented a new lapping process as a quality improvement to the existing Fuel Injector manufacturing operation.

The system was designed to improve the operational performance of the hourly workforce that produced the most complex component of the Injector operations at the plant. Refined the system by building in the capability to allow the experts on the floor to update the knowledge base to keep the system current/relevant. Implemented a CIM network to collect data from the Fuel Pressure Injector operations to provide data to better manage the area.
