Barry M Cook BSc (Hons), PhD, CEng, MBCS, CITP, MIEEE, FBIS is a HW, FPGA & SW engineer with extensive mixed-systems experience. His designs are in use around the world and in space on the "RASAT" and "Flying Laptop" satellites. He is currently working on ESA's PLATO and ERSA missions.After 18-years as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Computer Science / Information Systems Engineering at London, Surrey and Keele Universities, I joined industry in 2001 as CTO / Director of a company serving the Space Industry.Designed data networks, electronic test equipment, routing switch for the "RASAT" satellite and the computer/peripheral interface for the "Flying Laptop" satellite - generated sales £8m+.Design & consultancy services in electronics & networks (HW/FPGA/SW).70+ published papers, international conferences, 6 books, 19 granted patents for 4 basic inventions,standardisation committees, conference-paper reviewer and chairman of government committee awarding £1.5m grants.
