My 20 years of involvement in the marketing services, media, tech and comms sectors has been driven by the type of people it attracts - entrepreneurs, mavericks, mould-breakers, hot-heads, craftsmen, strategic masterminds to describe just a few of the character traits. Inspirational and charismatic these people may be, but I have found that this does not always translate into business success and financial reward. Helping to bridge this gap is where I enjoy myself the most.I am a Partner at Green Square (see below). I regularly contribute blog articles in Green Square's weekly M&A column in the Drum; have judged at the MiAwards; have an active role in Green Square's sponsorship of the DADI awards, Collisn and the Digital Census. For the previous 9 years I worked as Group COO at Naked Communications, establishing operations in Australia, NZ, Japan, Norway, France, Denmark and the USA; negotiated multi-million pound retained relationships with businesses such as Coca Cola, Nokia and Johnson & Johnson; put in place various joint venture, franchise and other commercial arrangements with a number of partners from micro-networks to listed groups and in 2008 managed the sale to Photon (ASX listed).Alongside the Naked role I was appointed COO of Photon’s International Agency Division. I established further Naked and Photon operations in Sweden, Germany, India, Singapore and the Middle East and divested of and merged various Photon businesses.Specialties: Prior to Naked I had roles at Kingston Smith, Andersen and Deloitte - assurance services for clients such as BSkyB, WPP, Omnicom and C&W; over 50 transactions and due diligence assignments from small design agencies through to a £1bn telco deal; post merger integration to insolvency and restructuring reviews; business plan development and business model build to employee incentivisation and aspiration reviews; writing and management of surveys for the marketing services sector.
