Responsible for developing a strategic IT plan that linked technology investments with Clifton Gunderson’s stated goals and objectives. Worked with Clifton Gunderson Firm Leadership and the Clifton Gunderson IT Board to prioritize IT investments that are consistent with the 5 year strategic plan, operating decisions and other firm initiatives. Significant investments made in the implementation of a new Practice Management system and in the implementation of a new Risk Assessment Standards application.

Directed the consolidation of technology services, application services and corporate support from Trizec Properties into Brookfield Properties when the two organizations merged in October 2006. Worked with executive and IS leadership teams across several organizations to integrate Trizec self service Corporate Intranet into Brookfield Properties to improve regional and property-based service delivery.

Barry directed the consolidation of technology services, application services and corporate support into the Chicago offices of Trizec Properties when Trizec formed as a REIT in June 2002. Barry received executive level support for the technology strategy strategically outsourcing services and implementing wireless capability to better support Firm Leadership; Leasing Professionals and Property Personnel. In support of an improved customer experience Barry established Service Level Agreements for the delivery of centralized technology and core financial application services and rationalized service delivery and technology spending across the organization. Barry worked with industry specialists to set standards and to integrate property operational systems and property security systems onto the Trizec Building Network.Barry obtained executive level sponsorship to design and develop a self service Corporate Intranet to improve regional and property-based service delivery in support of the 5 year Corporate Strategy and to serve as a repository for documents; and a repository of organizational best practice information. In support of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Barry directed internal compliance activities related to General Computer Controls section 404 and implemented cross-departmental processes and controls to remediate deficiencies.

Barry was initially engaged as a Managed Service provider to the Toronto office of Baker & McKenzie in 1993 to oversee operation of the local Toronto legal practice office. Barry relocated to Chicago in 1997 to join the Baker & McKenzie Global Information Systems team where he led efforts to standardize local office practice technologies, systems and operating procedures. Barry established implementation standards and technology operational policies for global technology solutions and established technology personnel evaluation and development policies. Barry also oversaw the expansion of core functionality and Web-based solutions delivered across all Baker & McKenzie offices.In support of Global Y2K initiatives Barry directed the development and deployment of the firm Global Time and Billing Software based on the Elite Legal Billing Solution into 60 global practice offices. This solution required the development and deployment of a sophisticated time card and disbursement replication system between practice offices and a consolidated data warehouse of billing information for global reporting purposes. In addition Barry directed the global deployment of an Exchange messaging environment to over 7,000 local users in 35 countries and directed technology standardization activities within Western Hemisphere offices.
