I served on the local County Emergency Response committee and was the chemical and biological response authority for all McGuire AFB wartime and natural disaster incidents and aircraft accidents. I Developed Operation & Maintenance Plans/Operational Instructions for all workplaces required to adhere to AFOSH, OSHA, EPA etc. guidelines; I was the senior approval authority for all installation chemical purchases and waste disposal procedures; reviewed installation construction contracts/plans with Civil Engineers and Contracting Officers; the senior Industrial Hygienist of the McGuire Air Force Occupational Safety & Health Council, and the manger of the McGuire Respiratory Protection, Hazardous Communication, Confined Space, Hazardous Noise, and Drinking Water Surveillance Programs. I performed respiratory training & fit-testing for USAF workers enrolled on the Respiratory Protection Program; implemented & evaluated the use of engineering and administrative controls; and ensured the proper selection and use of personal protective equipment. I reviewed new development & demo contracts, industrial ventilation design, noise reduction solutions; tracking of haz-waste streams, review of all confined space entry permits, provided "train the trainer" training, and served on the base AFOSH and Aerospace Med Councils. I collected hundreds of drinking water samples to test for bacteriological, lead & copper, VOCs, perchlorate, chlorine, fluoride & other water program protocols. I monitored & collected water samples from lakes, swimming pools, spas & ice machines to anlayze for various protocols. I was AFOSH qualified to perform the bacti-analysis of drinking water samples. I monitored groundwater outfalls and related tank systems in accordance with the local, state and federal discharge requirements.
