Part-time position. Lieutenant for 59 Deputies and 8 Sergeants. Directly supervise and oversee deputies in the field when deployed 10 or more to specific location or event. Respond and deploy for Emergencies such as major hurricanes, blackouts, riots, local disasters, national disasters and crowd/riot control. Deputies are often requested to supplement local town, village or city police agencies for large events -- parades, concerts, fireworks shows, town celebrations, foot races, large group walk-a-thons; providing crowd control, traffic control and local patrol. Work also includes dignitary protection and assistance -- Papal Visits, Presidential Security, etc, funeral escort and traffic management, provide patrol, safety and security assistance to SUNY Police at the local campus, work with the Westchester County Police and many local police departments in the county when requested, DWI Checkpoints, Safety Checkpoints and general public safety as required.
