I work in a variety of contexts; I'm an admin assistant and a volunteer tutor. I've supervised voter surveys. recruited focus groups, trained research teams, and run a call center. I've been a college radio staff member, DJ, concert promoter, and community activist. My current mission sees data enhancing linkages between and among nonprofits and client populations. It's an opportune time for this: the tools, skills, and networks required are being developed at an exponential pace.I like to crunch numbers, design research, write, and coordinate. I've had the opportunity in the past to steer projects such as a community awareness study for a women's shelter, a feasibility study to assess the demand for a new K-8 school, a competitive analysis of two publications with one owner (with one to be jettisoned based on the study results), and the development of a proprietary metric used to assess strengths and weakness of key portions of a news publication. I've prepared press releases based on data gathered from national surveys; one such release was made a headline in a major news trade publication. I'm lucky to be able to synthesize this unique array of skills - I credit the contributions of my past educators, leaders, and life experiences to this. I'm always seeking to revise, expand, upgrade, and fine tune what I know and can do. I love to examine a process from multiple angles and find the critical alteration that enables participants to get even more out of it.I'm eager to connect with research enthusiasts, systems thinkers and others hard at work in the nonprofit world. Our efforts are sharpened and amplified when we put this technology to our service. The services we provide become more efficient and better targeted as information reverberates among the many communities within our community. We are extremely fortunate to have this digital toolkit at our disposal and we should be excited by the prospects of its democratization of access.
