Barry Winick, AIA LEED APBarry Winick is a registered architect in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon & Massachusetts and a member of the American Institute of Architects, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1984. He is the founder of a design oriented architecture studio in Santa Barbara: Winick Architects Inc. Mr. Winick began his career specializing in historic preservation as an Associate with Stahl Associates Architects in Boston and afterwards became an Associate with the internationally renowned firm Peter Marino + Assoc Architects where in addition to extensive design work he was the senior director overseeing the business management of the New York office. He then founded the Santa Barbara office for the firm to support multiple projects on the west coast in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He has experience in all phases of professional practice from conceptual design through construction observation developing a unique architectural identity for cultural, corporate, commercial, hotel and private residential clients. A special focus of his work has been the integration of architecture with interior décor as exemplified by his work for the Four Season Biltmore Hotel, Coral Casino Pool and Beach Club, Montecito Private Residence, Chanel Corporate Offices, and the American Craft Museum. In addition to his design studio work, he has taught courses at the Boston Architectural Center, served as the Chairman of the Board at the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara is Co-Chairperson of Historic Landmarks Commission and President of the AIA SB Chapter.
